GAIKER Technological Centre (www.gaiker.es), located in the Technological Park of Bizkaia (Spain), is devoted to the up-take of own knowledge and to the development of new technologies that are later transferred to customers coming from sectors such as the Pharmaceutical Industry, Chemical Industry, Public Administrations, Automotive Industries, Construction, Packing and Packaging, and Home Appliances, amongst others. From 1985, the Centre has carried out close to 1500 R&D Projects related to its Knowledge Areas: Biotechnology, Environment and Recycling, and Plastics and Composites. Besides its activity in R&D, GAIKER offers to its customers Advanced Technological Services, Analysis and Tests and Technological Dissemination Services.

TNO is the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. TNO is the largest fully independent Research, Development and Consultancy organisation in the Netherlands with a staff of about 3,000 and a total annual turnover of more than 500 million Euros. It derives a significant portion of its contract R&D from foreign private sector, governments and international organisations. TNO’s primary tasks are to support and assist trade and industry including SME’s, governments and others in technological innovation and in solving problems by rendering services and transferring knowledge and expertise.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT, founded in 1959, is one of the largest and longest-established institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, which currently has around 24,000 employees and a total turnover of 2.1 billion Euro. At Fraunhofer ICT’s site in Pfinztal over 540 employees carry out research and development work in the core competence areas of chemical and environmental engineering, polymer engineering, energy systems and explosives technology. The institute’s facilities comprise 25,000 m² of laboratories, offices, pilot plants, workshops, test stands and other facilities. This exceptional research infrastructure, which includes high-volume pilot plants and industrial-scale equipment, enables Fraunhofer ICT to develop and implement new materials, processes and products up to near-industrial level. Well-equipped laboratories with cutting-edge safety features and energy-saving technology are available at the institute, as well as all the analysis and testing procedures needed for research in its specific fields.
