Last week, Coolrec, the PLAST2bCLEANED partner responsible for Performance testing of process and products, received TNO at its facilities, the project coordinator and company in charge of Process development: dissolution and recovery as well as for environmental and economic assessment.

The purpose of the visit was to understand better the focused fractions in the PLAST2bCLEANED project.

In these tasks the partners are working in, is key to understand the various processes the material went through to be able later on to develop the right recycling and purification path.

On October 23 and 24, Coolrec (a Renewi company) and ICL met together at Coolrec’s facilities in Waalwijk, The Netherlands to comprehend the complexity of the plastics sorting processes and to decide on the suitable plastic fraction for the PLAST2Bcleaned research and innovation project.

In this phase of the project, preliminary tests are being carried out to identify the adequate materials fractions for their later separation and processing.
